During the six weeks of lessons many of the students struggled in the pronunciation of certain words some had entertaining results. (Read capital letters as emphasis and font size as volume.)
Other words that were a similar futile exercise were: porter/puffter, deck/dick, elbow/eggboe, ’h’/eight, can’t/cunt. Also during a spelling test a whole class once misspelled cousin, D-O-G. Oh dear.
